Feedstock

The raw material is brought to the receiving containers, either by tipping containers, semi-trailer, or loader. From these containers, the material is transferred to the mixing vessel, along with dry material added to the return mix (optional), in order to obtain homogeneous moisture, if the moisture level of the delivered material is too high to be fed directly into the mixing vessel. dryer. The prepared material mixture is fed into the multi-pass rotary drum dryer.

Drying

The drum dryer is heated with hot gases from the gasifier. The pre-mixed material is loaded through a feed chute at the dryer inlet and captured by a high-velocity stream of hot air.

  • The main fan performs the following functions:

  • Maintain the required vacuum inside the gasifier

  • Pulling material through the drying system

  • Blowing moist air into the air handling system

Gasification

Gasification is a chemical reaction caused by heating the material in an oxygen-deprived environment, resulting in incomplete combustion that extracts carbon-rich gases.

The main component of the system is the fixed-bed, downward-flow gasifier, with the following main characteristics:

  • Fixed bed gasifier

  • Controlled airflow to ensure oxygen deprived environment

  • The main gas produced is carbon monoxide (CO)

  • The temperature in the gasifier is 720°C to 850°C

  • Input and output are controlled by variable frequency feeders
